I have been climbing my personal Everest with too much work but I managed to get a lot done this weekend and am able to get my head up today.  I went for a run this morning and it was a beautiful crisp autumn morning; cold but dry.  I suddenly remembered why this is one of my favourite times of the year. The other favourites are winter, spring and summer.

Steve Whitiuk has hit the ground running since taking over Vocational Service.  He is currently engaged with the other clubs to see if they can still get the dictionaries out this year. Thanks for taking that on, Steve.

This is obviously a busy time of the year for us. Please sign up for the many opportunities to make a contribution to our community. Go to clubrunner, look at the events and register.  it makes it a lot easier for whomever is chairing that event.

The early bird deadline for the Bangkok convention is December 1.  The discounted fee is $160, which apparently is the lowest its been in 50 years.

The foundation dinner is this weekend, Nov 19th down in Bellingham. Our zone decided to club together to get one nicer item for the auction rather than six individual items.  Gary was able to secure a golf weekend valued at $1000 for $500. Well done Gary. That should raise some money for the district.

Thanks a lot to those of you that have been very helpful to me during this busy time. I really appreciate it and it feels good to know that one can rely on one's friends. That is what many hands make light work, means!
