Minutes of International Meeting – 7th August 2013 - 5:30pm
In attendance: Linda Balzer – Ann Hulbert – Isabella Beane- Al Stjernegaard
Discussion took place regarding the containers, first container, second container on hold in port awaiting clearance.
Kenya Water Project for District 5040 on hold pending information on possible District 5050 water project.
Al presented his thoughts on a possible project with the Rotary Club of Guyaquil in Ecuador. He spoke about a possible burn unit project. The have the land and currently securing funding for the building of the hospital and are looking for funding. Al will contact the Rotary Club of Guayaquil to request a project proposal around the burn unit.
Linda reported that they are building the second house in Belize for a homeless family. She would like to do another hands on project in Belize, she will see if there is a project that we could present to the club to see if there is an appetite for such a trip.
We discussed the possibility of a reunion of people that have made the trips to South Africa, include the entire club but specifically invite those who have been on the trips. It would be a celebration of the projects we have completed down there.
