Announcements this week

Ian provided a brief update on last nights Port Moody council meeting where we asked for the City's support for Ribfest in 2016 from July 22nd - 24th. We were well received and they will discuss and provide their decision in the coming weeks. Thanks Ian and Al for the update and representing us.

 

Jim provided an update on Rotary World Health for which our club has been a huge supporter. To date over 350 containers of medical equipment and supplies have been shipped to 18 countries worldwide with a value in the tens of millions of dollars. Our own club has a scheduled ship date for our next container going to Thailand on or around September 26th.

 

Isabella received a letter from a young recipient of our Kids Camp sponsorship which was shared around the meeting.

 

Jessie and Debra extended an invite to all Rotary members to attend her campaign launch this evening at her campaign office on 2617 St. John's Street in Port Moody.

 

Al reminded us that there will be an update on Rotary International at 6:00 pm this evening at Moody Ale's for all interested members and guests.

 

Rounding out our meeting we celebrated Anne's birthday and Darrel's 14 year anniversary with Rotary.
