What a great speaker and so relevant to our situation in the
Rotary Club of Port Moody.
“Will Rotary Die”?
The Answer is yes, unless we change and do something different.
Both Industry and Rotary, Must change and get down to the basics of what our membership needs and not try and be everything for everyone.
Gary compared our situation to Grieving:
The stages you go through are:
1.Denial!
2.Anger to change which we must do.
3.Negotiating- if we change , will it work? Who will work?
4.Depression- too much work, jobs, stress, pressure, we must move on. We must get everyone to the last step.
5.Acceptance- Make it the prime focus.
We must decide what we need to do.
Think about paying attention to us, membership.
Think Realistic.
What Benefits each person in our group.
Networking is so important to us all and especially Socials are so important.
Attracting Young People!!
Fun!!! And the use of people’s homes.
Focus on Manageable amounts of work.
Re-Invent ourselves!
These are the main points but gives us something to start our new process.
