Mike Befeler
Becoming an Author Has No Expiration Date

Mike is a speaker and author of 14 published books including mystery novels, a thriller and a biography of a World War II veteran. I give a humorous and entertaining presentation titled “Becoming an Author Has No Expiration Date” about starting to write later in life and writing about older characters. I have spoken at numerous Rotary Clubs in Colorado before moving to Lakewood, CA, where I now reside with my wife. I look forward to speaking at your meeting on Thursday, August 23rd.

Here is further information about me and my published books:

In the May, 2008, issue of the AARP Bulletin Mike Befeler was identified as one of four authors in a new emerging mystery sub-genre. Harlan Coben, president of Mystery Writers of America stated, “We’ve just scratched the surface on geezer-lit. It could be the next frontier in crime fiction.”

Mike turned his attention to speaking and writing after a 39-year career in the computer industry.  He holds a Master’s degree from UCLA, a Bachelor’s degree from Stanford and resides in Lakewood, California, with his wife Wendy. He is past president of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Mystery Writers of America.
