LMJ's Lost Souls - Alzheimer's Fund
Oct. 14, 2026 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

LMJ's Lost Souls - Alzheimer's Fund is one of our community partners that received project selection funds from us last year.  At their request, the Community Service Committee helped select a senior memory care facility to receive supplies and resources as a part of this funding to support their care.  Here is a message from Kari-Ann at LJM's:

"One of the locations that your Rotary requested we deliver to is finally coming to fruition.  I will be delivering to the Bella Terra Schaumburg location next Wednesday at 11:30 am and we would LOVE to have anyone from the selection committee join us for the drop-off.

What does this actually mean? I will bring a carload of the items I bought for their facility to Bella Terra Schaumburg (address below). I will unload, set up a table of the donations and take photos with myself, any volunteers joining me, and the team at Bella Terra who will be using the items.  Sometimes we have some conversations about the donations, sometimes they even offer to bring in some residents to join inthe fun.  The entire scenario takes maybe 30 minutes maximum. "

If you can attend this event on Wednesday, October 14th at 11:30am at Bella Terra Schaumburg (675 S. Roselle Road), please notify me directly.  I am hoping we can get a handful of folks to attend from the Club.  I am trying to juggle my schedule to attend.

CAC Butterfly Garden Clean-Up
Oct. 17, 2026 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Happy spring everyone!! With spring it’s time to turn our attention to the Children’s Advocacy Center and our butterfly garden. The schedule for garden tending for this year will be the third Saturday of every month from April through October from 9 AM to 11 AM unless weather conditions requiring us to change.

We ask that you bring water for yourself, a hat, your garden gloves, and gardening tools you prefer to use. We have a limited supply of tools at the garden. Hand clippers and small trowels are most often used. We do have several regular members that will bring blowers and other heavier equipment.

If you have never been before, please join us- it’s a fun way to get to know your fellow Rotarians and make a big difference in the community. There’s plenty of work for everyone. You don’t need to have gardening experience to contribute. The contribution of paper refuse bags is also always appreciated.

Looking forward to seeing you for the spring cleanup, which is always one of the biggest of the year. So the more hands the better!
