This morning I purchased and delivered 200 pounds of frozen Butterball turkeys to our friends at St. Mathews Lutheran Church in Hawthorn Woods. Each Thanksgiving Day, they put on a fabulous Holiday Dinner for residents of Lake County in need of a holiday dinner. This is our second year proving turkeys for the event. Thanks to our local Aldi, in Lake Zurich, for allowing us to purchase all these turkeys in a single shopping trip, and at a great price. Last year, the leftovers from this event were shared with a partner church in Chicago, and helped feed another 200 local residents.
