Our Club sponsored the Community Dinner at Emmaus House ministry in Lake Zurich.
 
The Rotary Club of Long Grove, Kildeer, and Hawthorn Woods sponsored the Community Dinner at Emmaus House in Lake Zurich on Sunday, October 18th, 2015.  The event was coordinated by Club member Jim Dopler.  Other Club members volunteering for the evening included Lyle Staab and Bill Ferreira.  Marilyn Dopler and AnnMarie Staab also joined their spouses in helping out for the evening.   The Club provided and served a complete dinner including fried chicken, fresh garden salad, potato salad, cole slaw, macaroni salad, peas, corn, lemonade, coffee and cake for dessert.  Approximately 150-175 guests were served.
 
Emmaus House is a ministry of hospitality dedicated to our neighbors who are struggling with poverty and its uncertainties.  They provide resources such as shelter, food and clothing to families and individuals in need, helping them move from crisis to stability.  They strive to eliminate the social causes of poverty that affect the people they serve by raising public awareness and advocating for change.  Emmaus House of Hospitality is a covenant ministry of St. Francis de Sales Church, Lake Zurich, IL.
