This past Saturday, the Rotary Club of Long Grove, Kildeer and Hawthorn Woods participated in the first "Rotary Ring Day" for the Salvation Army.  This was a District 6440 wide event which encouraged Clubs across our District in Northern Illinois to get out and ring the bells to raise money for this great cause.  Fifteen Clubs participated on 12/8/18.  An estimated 15 additional Clubs will be participating on other dates in December.  Thanks to Jim Dopler for organizing this District wide event.  Thanks to Jim Dopler, Lyle Staab, and Greg Cardelli's family for ringing the bells at Mariano's in Lake Zurich this past weekend.  We'll post total dollars earned for this weekend, and for the month of December, when they are available.  Much like Rotary, the Salvation Army has boots on the ground locally, nationally and internationally when disaster strikes.  This was a great opportunity to partner with another local organization and do good in our community.  Additional Rotarians were also ringing the bells on Friday, 12/7/18, at Woodfield Mall as part of an annual Radiothon in Schaumburg.  Thanks to all involved!
