The Rotary Club of Arlington Heights Presents the 2012 L.W. Calderwood Award
The Rotary Club of Arlington Heights presented the 24th Annual L.W. Calderwood Officer of the Year Award to investigator Todd Radek of the Arlington Heights Police Department. Officer Radek sent us a nice Thank You Letter.

Upon leaving the military service in 1993, Radek joined the police force and served as a patrol officer, crisis intervention team member, criminal investigator and instructor for the Arlington Heights Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy for 15 years prior to being assigned to the criminal investigation bureau. For the past 5 years, he has been the department’s financial crimes investigator.
Radek has established an outstanding performance record that includes department commendations, multiple distinguished performance citations and many complimentary letters from citizens of Arlington Heights.
According to the Arlington Heights police department, investigator Radek has demonstrated his commitment to assist individuals who are victims of financial exploitation. Many of these cases involved elderly and disabled individuals in the village. He has developed a reputation of possessing a strong work ethic, combined with compassion for all victims of crime.
The L.W. “Bill” Calderwood Award is in honor of the former Arlington Heights police chief who placed the organization on the leading edge of law enforcement throughout the northwest suburbs. The award is presented annually to the police officer who has demonstrated the most significant contributions to overall betterment of the community in chief Calderwood’s memory.
Police Officer Radek and his wife Jennifer have been married for 12 years and in his off duty time enjoys gardening, marine aquariums, outdoor activities that include hunting with his longbow.
