Photo of Mulder Speech

As she prepares to retire after two decades as Arlington Heights mayor and 34 years in public service, Village President Arlene Mulder gave her last State of the Village speech to the Arlington Heights Rotary Thursday afternoon and said that the village is in good shape, and in good hands for the future.

An appreciative audience of many guests, town officials, and Rotarians had come together at Rolling Green Country Club for this annual Rotary event.

In introducing the mayor, Club President Tauber reminded us of the differences between Leadership and Management, Politics and Service -- "A politician is their guy.  An elected official is our guy".  Said Tauber, "We're delighted that you've been Our Guy!"

Linda Borton presented Arlene's second Paul Harris Award in recognition of the mayor's service.  Deb Whisler presented a bag of gifts to our village retiree -- gardening supplies to spend time tending the garden at home and supportive-spouse Al . . . after 34 years of tending Arlington Heights!
