International Service Committee chair Joanne Primavera reports that the International Committee met on November 23 and decided to give equal amounts of $2,150 to each of three projects. The first is a project championed by Kristin Olson, and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Costalegre, Barra de Navidad, Mexico. It provides for continued safety and environmental improvements at the local middle school. Second is a project championed by Bella Chaffey, the Women Empowerment Training Program in Nairobi, Kenya, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Renton. Finally, the committee approved a project championed by Monica Fratita, and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Galati Donaris, Romania. It pays for installing bathrooms in each patient’s room in the infectious disease hospital in Galati, which currently has only common bathrooms on hospital floors.International Committee News
