"Thorns may hurt you, men desert you, sunlight turn to fog;but you're never friendless ever, if you have a dog. " (Douglas Mallock)

If you love dogs, and you love to see how they really are man's best friend, then you don't want to miss this event on November 7. The Norfolk Police Department K-9 Unit will present a demonstration that includes obedience, agility, and apprehension, showcasing the stringent training of every dog in the unit.

The K-9 Unit is responsible for augmenting operations of the three patrol divisions through a complement of dog teams on patrol. The dogs are full members of the police department, and are honored as fallen heroes when, in the course of doing their job, they give their lives to protect others. They are truly proud members of Norfolk's finest!

This event will be outside, so be sure to dress appropriately. The training center is off Military Highway not far from the airport. And as always, this counts as a make-up for a Rotary meeting.
