See "America's Greenest Building"--the Chesapeake Bay Foundation's Brock Environmental Center, WINNER of the 2017 American Institute of Architects’ annual sustainable design competition--and picnic on the grounds following our tour!  [OPTIONAL GOURMET GANG BOX LUNCH ($14.25), IF DESIRED, MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE; MENU CHOICES WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO SIGN UP PRIOR TO THE 17 OCTOBER DEADLINE.]  After winning the competition, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation's Brock Environmental Center was highlighted in a recent National Geographic issue: "A connection to nature defines the building’s site, which provides sweeping views of the marsh and also anticipates sea-level rise and storm surges with its raised design. The center was recognized for its positive footprint: it has composting toilets, captures and treats rainfall for use as drinking water, and produces 80 percent more energy than it uses, selling the excess to the grid."  Join fellow Rotarians to tour a national treasure that's right in our backyard!
