Join us as PDG Gerald Jackson (D6380) shares with us the project, Casa Colibri, to provide eye care to communities in Guatemala.
The project's mission is to help the Mayan people of northwest Guatemala improve the quality of their lives through programs in health, education, and related infrastructure.
The key goals of the program are:
• Make medical and dental care
available and accessible where none existed
• Decrease maternal and infant mortality
• Improve the nutritional status of families, beginning with infants
and young children
• Have every child stay in school, read at least at an 8th-grade level,
and have a vision for their future
• Support the establishment of clean water and sanitation throughout
the region
• Continuously improve and enhance our programs
This will be a Zoom meeting with PDG Gerald.
Lunch starts at 12:00 noon and we will end at 1:15 pm at the Masonic Lodge, 3010 Becerra Way, Sacramento (between Marconi and Robertson Aves.)

Past District Governor Sidney Smith and fellow Rotarian, Frank Lucia, will talk about a special high school mentorship program of the Rotary Club of Elk Grove.
The Rotary Club of Elk Grove Mentor/Scholarship program is designed to offer two adult mentors per student and a $5,000 scholarship upon completion of the three year program.
Students who are in the AVID program and in need of extra support are selected at the start of their 10th grade year.
Individual goals and self analysis presentations are provided by students quarterly. These “check point” sessions are attended by the student's parents and a committee of mentors.
The program also offers a variety of social and academic experiences for each student.
Dinner is at 6:00 pm and meeting will end at 7:30 pm at our meeting place, the Masonic Lodge, 3010 Becerra Way, Sacramento (between Marconi and Robertson Aves)

There is a special registration for those who, unable to attend the full weekend, want to join in on the Sunday brunch for $100/person!!!
