Recovery from Super Storm Sandy is underway throughout the Northeast Corridor.  Among the hardest hit areas are communities in New York and New Jersey.  We have been in touch with the Rotary District Governors in that area over the past several days to determine how we can help. They have urged us to direct financial contributions to the Rotary District 7490 Walter D. Head Foundation which will, in turn, distribute funds to community disaster relief and rebuilding projects in the six Rotary districts in the New York-New Jersey area.  You can find more information about their disaster relief plans at   http://nynjrotary.org/disaster-relief

The District 5440 Executive Committee has approved a direct contribution of $1,000 to the disaster relief effort and set up $5,000 in funds to match contributions from clubs and members in our district.  To qualify for matching contributions please write out your checks to the Rotary District 7490 Walter D. Head Foundation,  and mail them to:
