Relay for Life 2016

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE ROTARY TEAM MEMBERS who braved the weather to walk in the Relay for Life
About half of the Club members made up a great walking team over the weekend.
Thanks to Geoff Dawson for loan of his tent & Rhonda Anchen, John McDonald & Darrel Brewin who assisted in getting it up in gale force winds of Friday afternoon !
The Opening Ceremony welcomed Relayers & celebrated the beginning of the Relay
Then the following people walked in the first lap for Survivors & Carers

Maggie was MC for the Candlelight ceremony , which is always a moving tribute to remember lost loved ones & those who are still fighting cancer
Then other walkers later on included Alan & Dorothy Anderson, Geoff Dawson , Greg Plumridge & Mike Reed early in the rain on Saturday morning, followed by the Birchalls
Most of Saturday was then covered by the multitude of Gills - finishing with a great number walking in the Closing ceremony
A great contribution by Torquay Rotary Club members to a successful Surf Coast Relay !
