2019 Pass-the-Gavel Event
to be a celebration of a great year
and a transition to 2019-2020 leadership team

We have had an amazing Rotary year under Ray Bowens leadership. Wednesday evening June 26th, Ray will be passing the gavel to incoming president Tom Rowe. Just a few facts about Lewisville Morning Rotary's accomplishments these past 12 months.
We completed 74 community and international projects. Members contributed $5427 to The Rotary Foundation. We raised $1115 to end polio. Our members contributed over 2200 volunteer hours and when combined with our partners such as the Boy Scouts, Interact and NHS added to over 4000 hours. The equivalent value of those volunteer hours exceeds $40,000. Our Flag Subscription program has grown and our community Flag Retirement program was done 3 times for members of our community, most notably at the Wall that Heals.

Every year we take on some sort of new community service project. This year we had five. Two trips to Costa Rica for our dental project, Fund raisers for Alzheimer's /dementia treatment. We provided backpacks filled with sanitation items needed by the homeless in our community. We worked closely with the City of Lewisville to implement the Wall that Heals including opening and closing ceremonies with our flag retirement ceremonies and the Flag Day Celebration at Pine Hills Retirement Center.

Rotary is unique in that we induct a new club president every year. Because Rotary considers our vocation as an opportunity to serve, each year we have fresh inspiration to continue the wonderful work that our club is known for doing. We look forward to Tom Rowe's leadership during the 2019-2020 Rotary year.
