A partnership between Independence Gardens and Lewisville Morning Rotary Club.

An exciting morning as our group worked with LISD, Central Elementary School, and Independence Gardens to install a hydroponic tower

Lewisville Morning Rotary Club is proud to announce its collaboration with Independence Gardens, a local non-profit organization, to install two hydroponic towers at Central Elementary School. This initiative aims to provide fresh, locally grown produce to the school community while educating students about the principles of sustainable agriculture and healthy eating habits.

Hydroponic farming, which involves growing plants without soil by using mineral nutrient solutions in a water solvent, offers numerous advantages over traditional farming methods. By harnessing this innovative technology, the Lewisville Morning Rotary Club and Independence Gardens are working together to empower students with the knowledge and skills needed to grow and harvest their own vegetables in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner.

The project aligns with the broader goals of the Rotary organization, which include promoting peace, fighting disease and promoting health, providing clean water, supporting education, and growing local economies. By empowering students to grow their own food in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner, the Lewisville Morning Rotary Club is contributing to these objectives at the grassroots level.

The Lewisville Morning Rotary Club and Independence Gardens extend their sincere gratitude to Central Elementary School and LISD for their enthusiastic support of this initiative. Together, we are committed to fostering a culture of health, sustainability, and community engagement within the school and beyond.
