A Thank You Note from our Friends at CCA
Thank you again for having us this morning. I was blown away by the $1,500 check and momentarily speechless. Lucky for me it was just momentarily otherwise it would’ve been a VERY quick presentation. :) I realize the efforts of Rotarians to raise funds is significant. We will be good stewards of the funds you’ve given to us. If I put this funding in pantry terms, since you volunteer in the pantry, your club has just covered the food needs for 60 families of 4 for an entire month. Now that’s something to sing about (with or without talent)!
Alicia Barker was so impressed with your club and definitely wants to join. She’s got some prior commitments for the next 3 weeks and is going to come when she can. She can commit to coming regularly and joining by the June 7th meeting.
I have to tell you a story that happened when I walked into CCA after leaving your meeting. There was an angel named Howard standing by our Flagpole and Jesus statue. He was holding a birthday present and beaming from ear to ear. His caseworker gave it to him and he couldn’t remember the last time anyone had given him a birthday present. Howard’s birthday is actually next week but he said he wasn’t going to even open it yet as he wants to savor it. I was on my way our corporate prayer time and invited him. I’ve invited him about 100 times before, each Thursday if he’s sitting in our lobby waiting on his pantry time. He’s always promised he’d go. TODAY he actually fulfilled that promise. He was so grateful and in jest said to me the only thing better for this great day would be if he had birthday cake. I told him to come back next week we’d have a birthday cake for him. Initially I didn’t realize I had something on my calendar next Thursday when he normally comes in. It’s called Coffee with Ron. We’ve invited a few folks who haven’t met our new President to come in anytime from 7-9AM. But this is how God works. So now we’ll have coffee with Ron and cake with Howard. Please invite your fellow Rotarians to come over right after your club meeting even if it’s only for a minute. Howard is an example of someone you help with your generosity. We are so grateful for all you do putting service above self.
