Jr Rotarian Program Schedule
Aug 20: school starts
Seniors start working with Matt Smith on service project idea and implementation through fall
Sep 28: Applications due to counselors’ office (New class)
Oct 4: 2 Rotarians interview 4 students at a high school (new class)
Oct 5: noon meeting at restaurant project - Rotarian Committee of 12 who interviewed students on campus discuss candidates and select the final 12 new Jr Rotarians (for new class)
Oct 8 or 9: One or both interviewers visit school and surprise two students with news (New class)
Oct 13: Ropes/orientation course with new and senior class (24 Jr Rotarians & mentors, 8:30 am-12:30)
Oct 17: new Jr Rotarian class intro to Club
Oct 13: Reminder about exchange program possibility
Fall - optional social with mentors and new class
Oct - May: Informal meetings/contacts with mentor and mentee (from same school)
Feb 1: Four-Way Essay Contest deadline
April 17: Evening graduation (24 Jr Rotarians, parents, and Rotarians) - evening meeting
May 4: Rotary festival (all 24 Jr Rotarians)
May: Jr Rotarians, committee, mentors, club members give evaluation of program so we can improve (electronic or face-to-face)
