Our Rotary Club has for many years manned a Kettle for the Salvation Army for a day before Christmas at Stone Road Mall.  Typically volunteers work 2 hour shifts, and hopefully 2 volunteers per shift.  Anyone who has done it in the past will attest to what a wonderful experience it is, as so many of those making contributions to the kettles also share their personal stories and reasons for gladly making the contribution.

For 2021 the need is especially acute.  COVID-19 has severely and negatively impacted the ability of all charitable organizations to fundraise and has increased the needs in the local community, something that the Salvation Army in particular focuses on. The health and safety of Salvation Army Christmas Kettle volunteers is a top priority.  Salvation Army will provide personal protective equipment for all volunteers and will abide by COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines as applicable.  A change has been made to the Christmas Kettle Campaign for this year - there will be TipTap machines at each kettle location.  The TipTap machines will allow for touchless donations of $5, $10 or $20.

Ann Caine oversees the scheduling of the volunteers - she just needs to know who would be available that day.   You will be receiving a second email, and if you would like to participate that day (and feel free to include family and friends) check to see what slots are available and quickly and easily sign up there.  Ann will be there early to set everything up and will be available the rest of the day in case needed. For 2021 the Christmas Kettle we will be hosting will be located at the Indigo (Chapters) location.

The success of this Christmas campaign relies on the efforts of volunteers like you!  Thank you for helping us continue this valuable and enjoyable community service initiative in this "season of giving"
