15 inbound students, their Host Families, Counselors, and District 6000 Committee
Members gathered for the annual event in Iowa City.
The emphasis of the training was to integrate the 15 new inbound students from around the world, into American culture.  They and their Host Families were given insight into what to expect as the year progresses.
Counselors were trained in dealing with the situations that can arise in a year long exchange.
Present from North Scott Rotary were #1 our inbound student, Manuela Huscher, and one of her host families, John and Joan Maxwell.  Also very prominent in the training was Paul Kalainoff, Outbound Coordinator for District 6000, all students going out into the world.  Dennis and Deb Peterson were there as District 6000 Committee members, and training team..
Rotary District 6000 Inbound Exchange Students from the world, to Iowa and our local Rotary Clubs
These young students have taken on a great challenge in coming here for an entire year, away from their families, and to learn about our culture
Outbound students to the World, Now Rebound Students that have returned to the United States
Paul Kalainoff poses with his prodigies from last year.  These students have just returned from their year abroad, away from their families.
This group is now part of our training support team know as Rotex.  This team provides a vital link between the District Committee and the youth.
Quite frankly the students will listen to them and not us old people.
