Mike Kagay has been serving his community as the Shawnee County District Attorney for seven
years. Mike was the youngest DA ever elected in state history. He grew up just outside of
Shawnee County and attended Washburn University, graduating in 2005, before attending the
Washburn School of Law. After receiving his Juris Doctor, Mike accepted a position in the DA’s
Office, and has remained there ever since. Mike is committed to this community and the people
that live here. His office successfully prosecutes thousands of cases a year under his guidance,
working to make our community a safer and better place to live for citizens and their families.
Mike enjoys spending most of his free time with his wife, Hannah, and their five kids. The
Kagay family is proud to call Topeka home.
