The erstwhile webmaster of the Rotary Club of Glenferrie has unashamedly admitted to stealing ideas from Sweden and, in the process, has made new friends through Rotary's international network. Thak Malmö!
When setting up ClubRunner for the club we had a blank page to stare at when it came to webpage layout, colour scheme and content. To help with this daunting task we looked at a number of websites around Australia, the US and Canada, and even ventured as far away as Europe, where Cheryl Pisterman discovered the home page of the Malmö-Öresund Rotaryklubb. We agreed that it was a modern, clean and interesting layout and used it as the template for our site. If you take a look at Malmö's website you will see the similarity.

We wrote to the the webmaster at Malmö to say thank you and made contact with Kim Hall, who set up the webpage for the Malmö club, and who now looks after the District website. Malmö, many of you will know, is the site of the famous and magnificent  Øresund bridge, linking Sweden with Denmark, and the scene of the popular Swedish television show 'The Bridge'.

Writes Kim Hall:

"Hallo Richard

How nice it is that you have located D2390 Home Page. We are very happy to have this opportunity to reach our Rotary members this way. Every week we send a newsletter to our members in the district with information and links to our homepage. For us in the district organisation and for our members in the Rotary clubs is it a direct communication. Since we started Club Runner in summer 2019 we have more contacts with our members, clubs and the organization it selves.

We are happy that you find our Home Page as an example. Thank you for that.

If there is anything you want to ask us, please let us know.

Best of luck!

Kim Hall
