President Steve Wylie announced that Rob Anderson would be inducted as a club member at next week's meeting and that Anthony Balocca would be inducted the following week.
A number of items were mentioned by members:
  • Anne Josefsberg read a thank you letter  from Elizabeth at Camberwell HS for assistance provided by the Club.
  • Val Cuniffee advised that a FORaMEAL event would be held for Strathcona School in June.
  • Bill Granger gave an update on the drought relief project.
  • Jenni Nankervis  mentioned that due to building works at the Hawthorn Town Hall the  Busyfeet program had been briefly suspended. Jenni also thanked the Club for its support of the Alpha 1 project.
  • John McCaskill called for assistance with mentoring of participants in the Salvos Prounication classes as was detailed in last week's Bulletin.
Mike Walsh then led a discussion on possibly renaming the Aussie Pride badge. He outlined that students at Swinburne University had been undertaking a project to identify ways to improve marketing of the badges and had observed that the badge name has possibly lost its uniqueness particularly when the name is searched on the internet.
Members discussed possible alternative names for the badge which will be distributed by Steve Wylie to members for further consideration.
 

Stormy skies over Victoria Park, Kew for the Kew Bears Women’s game against Melbourne University last Saturday. President Steve and Cathie Macmillan have commenced as Team Managers for the team . The women played an excellent game in front of an enthusiastic crowd, winning comfortably in the end. The heavens opened to finish the day!
