Local partners gather to donate over 200 books to kids
 
On Tuesday, amid a gathering of wellwishers, Rebecca Raven ,CEO Brampton Library, and Matthew Samatas , President Rotary Club of Brampton presented a donation to William Osler Health System (W.O.H.S.) of over 200 books for hospitalized children. Rotary donated the funds for Brampton Library staff to curate and purchase this wide assortment of books for kids of all ages, in partnership with First Book Canada.

W.O.H.S. Foundation Director Colette Thomson was on hand to accept the donation and commented: “Thank you so much for thinking of our young patients at Brampton Civic Hospital! We are thrilled to be the recipient of the books from Brampton Library, generously funded by the Rotary Club of Brampton.”

CEO Rebecca Raven added: “Brampton Library is delighted to present this well-rounded selection of titles for kids to read and enjoy while in hospital and appreciate long after they return home. We are inspired by the generosity of Rotary Club of Brampton and delighted to work together to encourage a love of reading in our community’s youth.”

On behalf of Rotary Club of Brampton, President Matthew Samatas closed by saying, “We are proud of our twenty year collaboration with Brampton Library to purchase a variety of children’s books which are then donated to the Pediatric Wellness Centre of the Brampton Civic Hospital. Long may it continue!”
