Stirk Park Redevelopment – Darren and Nick
The master plan for the Stirk Park redevelopment was presented. It includes a new playground, a Skate Park and an upgraded path network.  The playground will have different areas for different ages.  The redevelopment has a Zig Zag theme.
There was significant community consultation which included students from the local schools talking about what they would like. The City won an award for children’s participation.
We were shown a map of the development and members agreed that it looks wonderful.  The project is expected to take 2 years to complete.
Obviously there is significant cost.  The City is seeking a $2.5 million Lotterywest grant and will put in $500 000 themselves.  They are looking for partners to contribute the remaining $350 000.
The City would like the Rotary Club to put in $100 000.  For this we would get good naming rights as well as signage and we would have our logo displayed.
Members had a range of pertinent questions and comments which were well dealt with by Darren and Nick.

Kaye thanked Darren and Nick on our behalf.
