A ‘Mitey’ Rotary lunch

All going to plan – John Kirwan and the Mitey team will make a ‘lunch’ stop on Tuesday 12th July to share the reason behind the massive drive across NZ - our regular Club programme has been changed from a Club Forum to a lunch meeting with a guest speaker format

Sir John Kirwan, mental health advocate, is driving across Aotearoa thanks to a partnership with Land Rover, to raise awareness for mental health and raise funds for the Mitey Programme to be delivered in Schools.

Mitey is a fresh approach to teaching mental health as part of the New Zealand curriculum, enabling children to learn about it at school, every day, just like literacy and maths.  Mitey was developed over two years by the Sir John Kirwan Foundation with input from highly experienced specialists from the University of Auckland as well as New Zealand educators, teachers, and clinicians.  The intent is that Mitey will help address the rising rates of depression and anxiety in our children and ultimately turn our mental health and suicide statistics around.  Check out the website for more information:  https://www.mitey.org.nz/

As part of this tour - there is a Land Rover Defender 90 up for grabs for just $20 per ticket to raise funds to roll out this charitable initiative to more schools.
