On 11th of October Club members were entertained by a presentation by Anna Harrison.  Anna came to Cromwell from the UK via Dunedin, among other places, and has been a long time resident of the Cromwell area.  As Principal of Goldfields School with a wide range of experience in the education sector, Anna may have chosen the current education environment in these pandemic times as her focus.  However, as chair of our community board the chosen topic for the evening was current and planned community projects, with a particular emphasis on the replacement of the Memorial Hall.  Clearly the majority community view was for the removal of the existing hall and a new ‘fit for purpose’ facility to meet the needs of a growing population.  The resounding message to the Community Board appeared to be ‘JUST DO IT’.  The news that progress is being made was well received by the members and Anna answered a wide range of questions from the floor.
