A Word from the President

A NEW WAY OF DOING ROTARY

As you know, our Rotary Zone is participating in a trial of the regional organisation. Clubs are now organised in Rotary Community Groups (RCGs) under the leadership of a Rotary Community Group leader.

We are members of RCG2, a group of 18 clubs in the northern part of District 9940. Our group encompasses New Plymouth, Ohakune-Raetihi, Dannevirke, Levin, and all clubs in between.

Through a series of productive meetings, we have identified a diverse range of projects that we can tackle together. These include crucial areas such as mental health, youth, the elderly, island nations, iwi groups, and the environment. Additionally, we can pool our marketing and public relations resources, exchange knowledge and ideas, and even combine manpower for larger community projects. The possibilities for impactful collaboration are endless.

Most clubs know very little about what other clubs are doing, and the RCG cooperation could lead to the easy duplication of successful projects in different areas, joint better use of social media, and enhancement of existing networks and partnerships.
Clear and regular communication will be the cornerstone of our success. Through this open exchange of information, we can unlock the many potential synergies available to us. Let's stay connected and keep each other informed.

Richard Wishnowsky of the Marton Club has been appointed the first RCG Leader for our group. He will need our support, along with that of each of the other 17 clubs, if our group is to succeed. The potential for renewed Rotary energy and activity is vast. For us, I believe, the answer may be expressed mathematically - a into g .
Let's do it!
Glen
