Greeting All – for the LAST TIME

Thank you, Morris, for your pictorial trip through the Panama Canal last Thursday. More than one member has commented that you have saved then thousands, as they have now seen it all and do not have to pay for a boat cruise.

George and I spent Friday evening at the Rotary 100 Years Celebration and were entertained with a program covering the highlights of Rotary in NZ over the last 100 years. The list of organizations and events that rotary has been instrumental in founding over this period is truly amazing.
This history is recorded in a book – ‘Mana Tangata, People of Action’. The club has purchased 12 copies of this book which will be available for members to purchase at $45 per copy ($70 per copy elsewhere).

George and I also attended the District 6620 Conference on Saturday. The conference format was ‘different’ that what past have been, but there were still some interesting reports on the activities of various clubs, both in Auckland and in the Pacific. George was named from the podium, more than once, as being a ‘man of action’ when it comes to rotary projects – but we already knew that.
Peter joined us for the Conference Dinner where the highlight for us was the awarding of a PHF to Peter for his many years of service as Foundation Treasurer on the D9920 Foundation Committee.

I guess next Sunday I will get the evening off from putting together a Presidents Bulletin Report for Anne. However, it has been a task that I have enjoyed over the past year, and I hope you have all been informed and possibly entertained.

Proud to be a Papakura Rotarian
For the LAST time
President Allan
