Dear Dave,

To each of you, as one of the leaders of our district for the 2018-19 Rotary year, I want to say a huge thank you for the work you have put in this year and for your willingness to be an inspiration to others, to take action and to make a difference.

It is with mixed feelings I write this last message as 9920 District Governor for 2018-19; sadness that this amazing journey is ending and pleasure at seeing change happening and great things being done in our communities.  It has been such a privilege to serve you all and your clubs and for John and me the very best part has been meeting so many people who are committed to serving others, and having fun doing it.  There are hundreds of different projects happening in our eight countries, many clubs are trying out new ways of doing things, and we are seeing greater connection with Rotaract and with Interact.  We have chartered three new Interact clubs this year (Leone High School in American Samoa, Epsom Girls Grammar School, and Tuakau College) and I am delighted to say that our newest club in the district, the Rotary Club of Tarawa in Kiribati, becomes official today.

I hope that your role this year has also been fulfilling.  I am sure at times it has also been challenging but above all I hope that you can look back on your year with satisfaction and pride.  We are all part of a journey and part of a wider team.  I hand over to DG Gary knowing that our District is in very good hands and that we will all continue working together to do good.

Please pass on my thanks to your clubs for the great work they have done.  I particularly want to thank DGE Gary and DGN Craig for their support this year, also District Governor's Secretary Peter Barron and District Bulletin Editor Nick Hamilton, plus all the Assistant Governors who have supported our 53 clubs.  Our District Committee Chairs work very hard, often invisibly to most club members.  And lastly our Club Presidents are vital.

So thank you for a wonderful experience this year and for helping make our world a better place.

Best wishes
Ingrid and John
