The next evening meeting at the Remuera Golf Club is on 11 May. This will be a very full meeting.

The main focus is on the environment and in particular, the Hauraki Gulf and its islands, the area of some of the Club’s most significant projects.

Our key speaker will be Brett Butland. Brett is Senior Project Support Manager of Predator Free 2050. He previously worked at Auckland Council as Director of the Pest Free Auckland programme. With DOC, Brett directed the multi-species eradication operation on Rangitoto/Motutapu. In South Africa he was a wildlife ranger for the Natal Parks Board. Brett is also chair of the Motutapu Restoration Trust.

In addition, we will hear briefly from the inaugural awardee of The Rotary Club of Newmarket 75th Anniversary Hauraki Gulf Environment Post Graduate Award.

The St Cuthberts and EGGS students who the Club assisted to attend the Science Forum this year will tell us about their experiences on the Forum and how it may help their future studies.

Please register early so numbers can be confirmed with the Golf Club. Either click on the link to register or email me on burridgescott@gmail.com
