The Rotary Club of Gander has established several projects which require an ongoing commitment and participation by its membership. These are offered in the Rotary's tradition of service and include the following:
Annual Celebrity Roast and Auction
Cobb's Pond Community Appreciation Day
James Paton Memorial Hospital Staff Appreciation Day
4-Way Test Poster Contest
Duck Drop Fundraiser
The Gander Academy Rotary Scholarship Program
The School Breakfast Program
Over the years contributions from the Club's fundraising initiatives have been donated to many worthwhile charities and community services. Below is a cross section of some of the Club's benefactors:
James Paton Memorial Hospital – equipment, family rooms
Girls Guides - repairs and equipment
Boy Scouts - equipment
Local Schools - TV's, etc
Local Food Banks
Internationally – Polio Eradiation, Medical Clinic, Shelterboxes
The Club is best known for its sponsorship and development of the Cobb's Pond Rotary Park. This municipal park, located off Maggie Road, is arguably the most frequented outdoor recreational facility in the Town of Gander.
The Club's most recent initiative is in the International sphere, assisted in the purchase of equipment for a new medical clinic to provide basic health care services to villagers in a rural area of Nepal, surrounding the Namo Buddha Monastery
