Mental health is a topic that is oftentimes not emphasized enough in our society. While many high school age students face challenges with their mental health, very little preventative actions are taken. Today, we see the need for both a better understanding of mental health and the necessity to destigmatize mental illnesses by raising awareness.
That is why, in collaboration with the Eastview High School Student Council, The Humanitarian Development Initiative will host a Mental Health Symposium on Tuesday, October 24. The symposium will be in the style of a TED talk and will be split into three sections; Policy, Science, and Prevention. Attending the symposium is free of charge.
Guest Speakers
Dr. Kathryn Cullen, M.D.
Senator Jim Carlson
A representative from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
