SERGEANT AT ARMS REPORT: None tonight - Our Oktoberfest Party instead

Editor's Note: so we went unscathed. The food was very authentically German starting with Lettuce flown in specifically from Germany for our tossed salad followed by German potato salad, German Sausage Wiener Schnitzel and of course Black Forest Cake that literally melted in one’s mouth. Condolences to those who were unable to attend.

ROTARY MOMENT

President Linda gave us a history lesson on the German Hamburg Rotary Club. These clubs dissolved in 1937 due to the War. After the War a French and Dutch Club asked Rotary to reinstate the Hamburg Club and they were in 1949. That Club is hosting next June’s Rotary Convention at only $ 395.

Linda thanked David for the immense work he did organizing the World Polio Day event at Durham College and humble as he always is David called it a Team Effort.

GUEST SPEAKER : OKTOBERFEST PARTY - Thank you to Janice Coupland

Janice entertained us with a trivia contest on Oktoberfest with results pending to determine the winner of the Prize she was offering. Rumours are swirling as to the name of the winner as the competition was intense to say the least.

Peter Dueck belted out some German Toasts to provide atmosphere to the Fun Evening

Meeting was adjourned at 8:10 PM.
