Name of Speaker: President Lennis Trotter

President  Lennis gave his inaugural address to the club in which he outlined the four main Action Items from Rotary’s Strategic

Plan._

1.increase the IMPACT of Rotary

2.Expand Rotary’s REACH.

3. Enhance participant’s ENGAGEMENT.

4.Increase Rotary’s ABILITY TO ADAPT.

 

Lennis the outlined what each Director plans to do this year.

 

CLUB SERVICE- Sandra McDowell. 

She put out a call for members to bring in interesting speakers for our club meetings. She promises to keep up the social activities of the club like the summer BBQ and other social activities and perhaps a few surprises Continue with our Red Barn Bingo and add a Pickering Bingo proceeds to the Kids Safety Village..

 

COMMUNITY SERVICE-Janice Coupland..

Her plans include reaching out to the Oshawa community for ideas on how we best can help where the need is greatest. They would like to do a project that focuses on the homeless. Continue with some of the same projects we have done in The last couple of years like the Krinkle project and Sharon’s Kids

 

YOUTH SERVICE- Kim Boatman

Kim intends to select a student for RYLA and reinvigorate Rotaract, and Interact

 

INTERNATIONAL Service- Kris Sachdeva

Kris wants to continue our efforts with Steve Routledge in Laos, take part in Kids Against Hunger and perhaps have another grant for a project in India.

 

Rotary Foundation -David Penney.

Continue to support the Rotary Foundation by increasing our participation in our District’s Foundation Walk. We have set our club goal for contributions at $3200US and $1500 US for polio. We will continue to provide leadership by organizing and hosting world polio day at Durham College on October 24

 

MEMBERSHIP- Stanley Igboanugo_

The plan is to make our club more diversified through our membership. He hopes to produce flyers to promote joining Rotary. Bring a friend meeting.

 

PUBLIC RELATIONS- Hilda Finnigan

Her plan includes activities that would satisfy the criteria to achieve the Rotary Citation. She will continue to work with the Oshawa Express to include articles that showcase our club and members as People of Action. Using the guidelines from RI her committee will examine all ways to promote Rotary and our club. She suggested that joint meetings of some committees may be necessary.
