Guest Speaker Marilyn Olliff (with Past President Ray Lipscombe).
Marilyn (accompanied by Councillor Sandra Wilson), gave an informative presentation on her initiative to retain native flora and fauna in the wetlands area near Laverton Creek in the HD Graham Reserve. She detailed an ambitious 10 year plan to build a visitor and activity centre on the site where people could go and relax, view native wildlife, and generally relax.
She has approached a few government and non-government agencies and was seeking assistance from Rotary to progress this initiative. Marilyn handed out some materials and an internet resource called Pick My Project and encouraged us to start voting for her initiative.
