After 35 years in the Australian Public Service, of which 25 years were in the Senior Executive Service, Neville recently retired to dedicate himself full time to volunteering. In 2010, Neville was decorated with the Medal of the Order of Australia "for service to the community particularly through leadership roles in the Scouting movement." Outline of talk During his talk, Neville will reflect on his 6 years as International Commissioner for Scouts Australia. In doing so, he will draw on the similarities between Scouts Australia and Rotary. He will also talk about the challenges of contemporary volunteer organisations such as Scouts Australia, and youth development organisations that intended to be "youth led and adult supported". He will conclude by offering views of the future as to what voluntary organisations need to do to "future proof" themselves and the role they can play on the international stage. |

Andrea Hutchinson, Fashfest Andrea was raised in Bern, Switzerland. She has always had a globally focused and creative mind. Andrea's interest in fashion was sparked early when she became a model at the age of 16. During that time, she realised her real passion lay in the fashion industry. As a model, Andrea had access to the ins-and-outs of fashion shows, learning how these complex events were pulled together. To Andrea, fashion became so much more than designer clothing, it transformed to be about the buzz and the reality that fashion is so much more than what ended up on a catwalk. Today Andrea owns and directs HAUS Models, a unique Canberra modelling agency that focuses on cultivating and supporting local talent. Andrea is immersed in bringing fashion to life. As a founding partner and managing director of FASHFEST, Canberra's biggest red-carpet fashion event, Andrea applies her strong people skills and ability to communicate with all aspects of the creative industry, and her ability to quickly form close relationships with backstage people, models and designers. 2017 will be an exciting year for Andrea and her husband Clint, whith whom she founded both FASHFEST and HAUS Models. This dynamic couple will be focusing full-time on both businesses, as well as several other creative ideas now in development. This includes the formal launch of a creative hub for Canberra NOMI, the Hutchinson's new kid's fashion label. |
