President Greig acknowledged our guests including Rotarian Neville Woodforth, partners Robyn Hills and grand kids Caleb, Phoebe and Rose, prospective member Michelle Jackson. Greig made special mention of Cedric Gowlett who is recovering from a minor op. Greig also welcomed back Kevin Curd after a recent health issue.
 
International Toast
Matt proposed the toast to the Rotary Club of Kabul City, Afghanistan. They were chartered in 2013, have 20-30 members and support leaders and women in their community.

  • Will - received membership application from Michelle Jackson.
  • Matt - has 3 wildlife stretches to give to wildlife rescue groups.
  • Geoff - Youth committee has presented 10 schools with bursaries. No applications for the upcoming Science Experience and the next RYDA day will be in July 2022.

  • David - ROMAC Trivia night is on 3 March 2022, start getting your teams ready.

  • Suzanne sadly advised the club that our member Richard Hall is not well at all and palliative care has been organized. We want to let Richard know that he is in our thoughts and payers at this difficult time.

Rotarian of the Month
Peter presented this award to Donna Hammett along with a bunch of flowers in recognition of her sterling work with the meal attendance numbers. This was also Donna's last night with us as she is moving to Brisbane.
 
 
HIGHLIGHT
A highlight of the night was the presentation to Ross Harrison of a double sapphire PHF in recognition of his work behind the scenes in many club activities over a long period and in particular his contribution to the recent Opera in the Hangar event. CONGRATULATIONS Ross well deserved.!!
 
 
AGM
The AGM was held at which the audited treasurer's report was accepted.

Vocational Talk
Kevin Curd spoke about his career with Telstra.
 
Kevin was born in Mundubberra, was home schooled initially, left school at 14 to join PMG as a postal clerk where he learnt Morse code among other skills. By 1983 he was State Personnel manager in Queensland. He was the State Manager for Telstra for SA & NT from 1989 to 1997, during which time he presented an international paper at a conference in St Petersburg, Russia. He retired in 1993 after 43 years. He is married with 2 sons and several grand children. Kevin has been a Rotarian for 40 years and considers himself to be very blessed.
