Be part of something big by doing something small.

Plant a tree on National Tree Day and join in Australia’s largest tree-planting event on Sunday 1 August, 9 am – 2 pm at Doonan Creek Environment Reserve, Verrierdale.
Please register to participate in this conservation event at Doonan Creek Environment Reserve and plant native trees, shrubs and groundcovers to help create habitat for our local wildlife. There will be a number of activities running throughout the day that are suitable for all ages, so feel free to bring friends and family along with you!
- Tree planting: 9 am - 2 pm
- Welcome to Country: 9 am
- Create a bush critter using clay and natural seed pods: 9:30 am - 2 pm
- Kabi Kabi First Nations Cultural guided walk with Biral Tours: 10 am & 12:30 pm
- Wildlife display with presentations by Wildlife HQ: 11 am & 1 pm
- Free sausage sizzle (with vegetarian option) prepared by Coolum Lions Club: 10 am - 1 pm
- Free native plant for every participant
- Coffee available for purchase from Deadly Espresso
- Witjuti Grub Bushfood Nursery - bushfood plants display with fresh seasonal produce for tastings.
- Information stalls - BushCare Sunshine Coast, the story of Doonan Creek Environment Reserve.
Tools, plants, gloves and guidance will be provided. Please wear enclosed shoes, be sun safe and bring along your own water bottle. Don't forget your mask, as restrictions may still be in place.
