It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of a wonderful friend and Rotarian Eddie McCoy.  Eddie and Carol had a great love of travelling. They had their caravan hitched up ready to head north for a few weeks when Eddie had a massive heart attack from which he never recovered. Eddie was a member of RC Blackheath for about 8 years and made a significant contribution to Rotary, RC Blackheath and the Blackheath community.  He was president in 2015-16, and was the principal organiser of the Club’s ANZAC Day Golf Day which raised significant funds mainly for Katoomba hospital. He was the manager of Libby Bleakley’s RAWCS project, building a PCYC Gymnasium with associated facilities in Dili Timor-Leste – a project which our club has supported for many years.   In recent years he was also Club Treasurer.  Outside Rotary he was President of the Blackheath Tennis club and a very supportive neighbour to all those living close-by.
