Friday Night at the Movies

This is a special surprise event!  Please join Christine Peterson for the showing of a great documentary called "Maiden".  This is the story of Tracy Edwards, a 24 year old cook on charter boats, who became the skipper of the first every all-female crew to enter the Whitbread Round the World Race in 1989.  

There will be popcorn and Christine will provide a pot of her delicious homemade Turkey soup.  We will request a bartender - stay tuned on that!

What is the Whitbread Race you ask?  Originally named the Whitbread Round the World Race after its initiating sponsor, British brewing company Whitbread, in 2001 it became the Volvo Ocean Race after Swedish automobile manufacturer Volvo took up the sponsorship, and in 2019 it was renamed The Ocean Race.
