Show-Me Club President Julie McNeill called the board meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. at the Jerry Sigmund Cosmopolitan Center. Also in attendance were Brian McNeill, Bill and Jeane Tetro, John Hubert, Bill Giddings, Aaron and Lora Zaner, and Dayton Shepherd.

Correspondence
Bill Tetro and Julie McNeill reported that the club received no correspondence in the past month.

Treasurer’s report
Bill Tetro presented the Show-Me club’s budget for April 2019, which had an ending balance of $6,749.36 in the Commerce Bank checking account and $56,115.23 in Landmark Bank investments. Bill Giddings made a motion to approve the budget, and Lora Zaner seconded the motion. The motion passed.

Bill Tetro also presented the 2018-2019 actual budget and the 2019-2020 proposed budget. Overall, the club’s fundraising decreased approximately $2,100 over the past year, therefore contributions will decrease by approximately the same amount. Expenses remained nearly the same. The board approved the 2019-2020 proposed budget, and Bill will present the budget to club members at the June 6 general meeting.

Contributions committee
The club contributions committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. June 4 at the Jerry Sigmund Cosmopolitan Center. Committee members include CeCe Benton, Dayton Shepherd, Julie McNeill, Sara Echternach and Bill Tetro.

Mobility Worldwide fundraiser
Julie McNeill presented a flyer from Mobility Worldwide, which was featured at the August 2018 general meeting with guest speaker Jeff Moran. The organization builds personal energy transportation (PET) carts for disabled people around the globe.
A fundraising event for the organization will be held 1-5 p.m. June 23 at Logboat Brewing Company in Columbia. Part of the fundraising activities is for a club or company to decorate a PET cart that will be shipped to Kenya. Julie suggested to the board that the Show-Me Cosmo club might want to participate in the $300 sponsorship, which includes four tickets to the event. Additional tickets will be available for $20 each.
The board decided to discuss the opportunity with Show-Me club members at the June general meeting.

Inaugural program
Julie McNeill said that she is working on the program that will feature new club President John Hubert and list the new officers and board members. The inauguration of officers and board members will be held at the July 11 general meeting.

Build This Town bench
The Show-Me Cosmo club will have a plaque affixed to the bench that the club is sponsoring at the renovated farmers market in Columbia as part of the Center for Urban Agriculture’s Build This Town: Campaign for the Agriculture Park. The plaque measures 2 inches by 10 inches and will display the club’s name and year of sponsorship (2019). The club voted last year to sponsor a bench for $2,000 split into a $1,000 payment last year and a $1,000 payment this year.

General meeting location
President-elect John Hubert said that he and Julie McNeill have searched for a possible new location for the Show-Me club’s monthly general meetings, but to date the best choice will be to remain at the Columbia Country Club. The main drawbacks of other venues included location, availability of parking and cost.

The country club said that increasing the cost of a dinner from $16 to $18 will provide a wider choice of entrees, salads and desserts as well as a scheduled menu up to a year in advance.
Julie said that she will present a more complete list of options to Show-Me club members at the June 6 general meeting.

Mo-Kan Convention
Mo-Kan Federation Governor-elect Dayton Shepherd announced that the committee for next year’s convention, which will be held in Columbia, is seeking a co-chair from the Show-Me club. Members interested in serving on the committee in this role may contact Dayton.

Adjournment
Dayton Shepherd made a motion to adjourn the meeting, and Bill Tetro seconded that motion. The board meeting adjourned at 7:09 p.m.
