Hello Z Members,
We had our Board and General meetings for June the same week this month. The results of the both are below.

Scanning equipment and software investigation was presented as a "per event" option. The fee is $250 for set up, then $15 per month. The membership choose to have it re-investigated as a "continual use" system (24/7). New results will be presented at the next meeting.

The Z Friday Afternoon Club (ZFAC): We discussed the idea of extending invitations to other clubs, to sponsor a last Friday, using their license and offering a percentage of the income. Once again, if you are a member of another club, please introduce the idea to see if there is any interest.

Patio shade structure, Patio work lighting and walk-in cooler fees are all postponed for discussion till the October General meeting.

Many members utilized the ability to send emails to the entire membership recently, to convey opinions about the patio shade issue.  During a discussion with the Rec Center, we were advised to eliminate that ability, as many of the email writers did not attend the general meeting where the discussion took place.  Because membership feels strongly about retaining this ability, we have chosen to create an email etiquette document. It will be presented at the July board meeting.

Club fundraising has been allocated 50/50 to the building fund and the general fund.  However, there has been an  exception when someone is willing to host certain events and wishes to designate the funds to a specific area, ie. building fund, specific craft, etc.  Membership agreed to continue this practice.

We have some kegged beer left from ZFAC that will not last till the end of September. The beer still in the kegs is approximately, 9.6 gal. IPA, 7.6 gal. Porter and 5 gal. Hefeweizen. We had a vote to offer this beer to members by the glass to be consumed in the club room/patio until it is gone. There is a restriction that it cannot be poured at events charging a entrance fee.

Membership count is at 332 with 14 new members in the last month.

The crafting is continuing during the summer with 14+ carboys/buckets on the fermentation counter during the General meeting.

We do have a unique premiere club and our membership is friendly. I believe that, with proper marketing, we can become stronger, gain recognition, and attract new members. Kenny Jordahl is in need of committee members to strategize and execute a varied marketing plan.  If you have ideas or would like to assist in this endeavor, please contact Kenny.  Kenny will provide the board with information on the time and activities commitment he expects from committee members.

Mike Corr has agreed to handle publicity for the club.  All requested submissions should be supplied to him on a timely basis.  The Independent has a weekly Wednesday deadline, The PORA news has a weekly Friday deadline, and the Rec Center news has a first Friday of the month deadline.

Mike can be reached at ekimston@gmail.com

Thank you to all of you.

Respectfully,

Randy Pace
