Bridge to Beach

Some of the kids from Refugee Tutoring have been taking swimming lessons over the summer and this event will help teach the kids in how to surf, stand up paddle board and boogie board.  Come out and help with all of the fun festivities.  Bridge to the Beach event where families, students and lifeguards all join together to celebrate the end of swim lessons. There will be water activities (surfing, snorkeling, SUP) and a BBQ, all volunteers are welcome to join and help supervise a small group of students. 

We anticipate 40 elementary age kids and 20-25 middle school age kiddos so any assistance your group could provide would be awesome! We divide the kids into groups and have them rotate through the activities. We will pair off kids with volunteers for the day so the more volunteers the better!! 

Volunteers don't necessarily need to know to instruct the water activities- there will be life guards at the stations working with the kids. 

The event takes place at mission bay.
