It's that time of year...Project Appletree!

           This is one of our most favorite annual projects.  Project Appletree will be serving about 1,400 children from the Belton ISD and Academy ISD.  These children will receive a full set of clothes, school supplies, dental kit, and a hygiene kit before the first day of school.  Altrusa Intl of Temple, Tx, Inc. purchases and packs the hygiene kit, which consists of a full size bottle of shampoo, wash cloth, soap, and information regarding the Belton Library.

          The packing of the hygiene kits will take place at First Baptist Church, Belton, on Monday, August 8 starting at 5:30.  Please join us for a fun filled evening of chatting and packing...then, of course, eating.  Bring a dish to share and we will nourish our bodies after we pack the 1,400 kits (which we can accomplish in less than two hours time).

         Altrusans will also have an opportunity to "adopt" 20 children.  At Tuesday's meeting I will have 40 apples to distribute (20 red apples for a set of clothes, including shoes, and 20 yellow apples for school supplies, purchase at Perry Office Supplies).  If you are interested in adopting one of these children, just sign up!  Or if you wish to make a monetary donation, someone else can do the shopping for you.
