Presentation during the meeting: Street Stewards - Cleanup Project
Speaker: Aaron Null

Street Stewards is a litter pickup project that asks people to adopt a block near where they live to build a network of engagement. When a steward adopts a block, they are asked to keep their area clean on their own time, and their adoption area is added to a map where everyone can see the neighborhood commitments and help each other build to total coverage. Started in Ocean Beach, it has already expanded to 10 neighborhoods throughout San Diego County. Rotary Clubs are joining the network by adopting streets and blocks.  www.streetstewards.com

Aaron Null is a founder of Street Stewards. An Ocean Beach resident for 13 years, he owns a graphic design/art shop company called Vervor Shop and also serves on the Ocean Beach Town Council. Street Stewards grew out of an idea to find a way to handle community respect and pride from the grassroots source and empower people to raise the quality of their community with a low barrier of entry way to get involved and stay involved on their own time.
