Rendezvous With Rebeca
The Rotary Club of Sioux Lookout is working with our Rotary Exchange Student, Rebeca, to help her raise funds for a Shelter Box. A fun filled day at Dick and Mary McKenzie's camp is being planned for March 25.

Meet Rebeca, our Rotary exchange student living in Sioux Lookout this year, and attending the high school here.
Rebeca is 17 years old, from Spain.
Although Rebeca is deeply involved with her studies, sports, various extra curricular activities, and several community activities (including the Festival of Carols choir at Christmastime), she has decided to purchase a Shelterbox ( http://www.shelterboxcanada.org/index.php ) to donate for disaster relief wherever needed in the world, through our Rotary club.
To help raise $1200 for Rebeca's Shelterbox we will be hosting "Rendezvous With Rebeca" March 25 at our camp - a Saturday afternoon of chili, bannock, desserts created by Rebeca and Sylvie MacDonald, camaraderie on an early spring day, and a chance to meet Rebeca and a few other Rotary exchange students from Dryden, Kenora, and possibly Winnipeg, in the elegant rustic ambience of our lakeside White Pine Palace on Pelican Lake.
We can host 30 people for this unique get-together, which should be a real treat for those who'd like to come out and spend a few leisurely hours with other friendly, caring folks. In addition, it'll be a real contribution to youth initiatives and disaster relief worldwide - including Canada - through the Rotary/Shelterbox organization.
Tickets are $30 a person and include snowmobile transportation for those who need it. All proceeds will be turned over to Rebeca (who is also raising money by walking dogs, selling baked goods, selling her paintings, and other projects to reach her goal of buying a Shelterbox).
She's a great kid! If you'd like to be a part of this project, just message me, or call me at 738-2628, please.
And thanks!
